RIO’s Amateur Fly Fishing Film Festival eventually got picked up as the official seeder program to IF4 (International Fly Fishing Film Festival) by Fly Fusion Magazine.
Helping a Brand Launch a Film Festival
We knew a branded film festival was a cool idea but we had no idea it would get picked up by the actual film festival, IF4! Derek Byrd, publisher at Fly Fusion magazine and founder of IF4, was so excited about our success that he reached out to us to see if we could partner up. RAFFFA became the official seeder program of IF4 with the winner of RAFFFA receiving a $1k cash prize and automatic entry into IF4.
The program ran for three years and eventually hung the hat due to some participants getting engaged in conversations with each other that were contrary to the spirit of the festival.
